Today is universally known at Blue Monday and has been calculated as the most depressing day of the year. This is not meant as a clinical diagnosis, but is rather the day the general population feel at their worse through a combination of factors – including the weather, low levels of motivation, time since failing new year’s resolutions and people’s debt levels.
Motivation is generally at an all time low, with most people close to giving up or already having given up on any news year’s resolutions they may have set. And we are only 2 weeks into the new year!!
This is the time you need to take stock of why you made the resolutions you did, take time to figure out the why and the motivation to achieve may just return.
It can be really easy to lose sight of your long term goals if you don’t have any small ones to achieve along the way and keep you motivated – when really a series of small goals will amount to the overall aim and will help you keep on track while you get there. ( And this doesn’t just apply to fitness goals!)
So today – instead of letting yourself feel down or letting the day get the better of you, try to find (or remember) your why and see if that spurs you on. If that doesn’t work, contact me today for some help with setting your goals and additional support to smash them throughout 2018!
